Working with data

Data are logged to the computer that controls the system. Data are made available to you through the interface - you have options to choose which parameters to view in the interface and to export for final analysis.

Viewing a table of recent measurements

Click Data Table to bring up recent data. If measurements are still underway, the status field (upper right) displays the current step and a countdown timer. To select the parameters to display in the table or to change the order of the parameters, click the gear at the bottom right corner. You have options to constrain and sort the list (see Figure 5‑1).

Figure 5‑1. You can constrain the information presented in the data table.

Viewing graphs of measurement data

Click Data Trends to view plots. In each pane, choose the data file (current or historical) in the list first, then choose the parameter to plot in the drop-down menu. The project title will be displayed to the right of the date and time of the file (not shown in this example). When the current data file is selected, the plot will automatically update when new data points are recorded.

Auto-scale is on by default for both axes. You can change the range of either axis, right-click on the plot, turn off auto-scale, and then change the range. Or use the built-in zoom and drag functions at the bottom right of each plot. Latitude and longitude are plotted as numbers in degrees.

Click the gear icon at the bottom left corner to select devices. Parameters from devices with a dark green marker in this list will not show up in the menus for the plots.

Exporting data

Data files are ordered by the date and time the files were created and the project titles are displayed in the right column. This tab displays all the historical data files.

Click the blue icon at the lower right for options - you can constrain options, select items for display, and change the order.

To export data:

  1. Click Export File to view options for files to export.

Under Select Export Data, choose ALL to view all parameters, or select something from the menu to display only the parameters from a certain device. Click Add or Remove to check or clear all of the parameters from the specified device. The checked parameters will be the data columns exported to the CSV files.

  2. Under Select Export Files, you can select one or multiple files to export.

Shift + click to select consecutive files; Ctrl + click to select non-consecutive files.

  3. Under Folder Path, choose the directory where the export files are saved.

  4. Click Export to export the selected files.
